Most Recent Prayer Letter
December 20, 2007 Christmas greetings to you from our family! One of our favorite passages of Scripture about the incarnation of Jesus the Messiah is in Matthew 1. Verses 21-23 say "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL," which translated means, "GOD WITH US." One of our special blessings this Christmas is to have Caroline (19) home with us! We thank the Lord for making it possible. Because of an outbreak of whooping cough on campus, BJU terminated the semester a week early which made it possible for Caroline to have her ticket changed to come a week early! Thank you for your prayers for her. The Lord has provided for her school bill in various ways and in answer to much prayer. She is a sophomore Youth Ministries major. Continue to pray for her as she trains to serve the Lord. Mary (almost 17) will be graduating from high school this year. She is working on and studying for 5 CXC exams which she will take in the spring. Pray for her as she looks to the Lord for His next step for her. She may remain here in Carriacou for a year and teach in our primary school. She loves good music still loves to bake - we love her baking! Her home job is doing the laundry – a big job in our house! She produces the program “The World of Imagination” by reading good classic books on the air. Anna-Helen (14) has been taking violin lessons from her grandmother. She is doing very well as a beginner and played a song in the HLCA Christmas program. She is in 9th grade this year. She is a pretty good cook and helps in the house with various cleaning jobs. She produces one 30 minute Captain's Kids program each week. She is also the official baby sitter. She is as tall as Mary. Katrina (11) is in 7th grade. She loves to be silly and keeps us all laughing most of the time. She is growing up and out of some of her “childish ways” but it is hard when you are having so much fun being a “kid.” :) She is an expert sweeper/mopper – you know this because of all the advice she gives to her younger sister! She also enjoys cooking. Angelia (10) is in the 5th grade and is a good baby sitter. She has a very giving spirit and is generally a happy person. She loves to bake cookies and help her father by doing secretarial work at the radio station. She also loves to fix her sister's hair. Peter will be 9 on the 30th of this month. He loves school – especially his new teacher, Sister Ramdhanie. His best friend is Nathaniel Little. They like to build forts and watch Brother Richard butcher pigs. The rest of us just like to eat fresh roast pork! Peter likes to make things with his hands. He is a very animated person who makes his own “sound effects!” He is our “trash man” and likes to do things with daddy. Micayla (7) has lost her baby fat but still has a slight lisp in her speech. She loves to tease as long as you don't tease her. :) She loves to play house and with her dolls. She is getting to be a good hair dresser like Angelia! She loves school and her teacher, Sister Ramdhanie. Isaiah (5) is an intense person. He is very observant and loves to work with Peter building things down in the yard. He is in K-5 and has already learned to read! He can't wait until he is big enough to help daddy work at the station. He loves playing cars with his little brother, Joseph. Sometimes he and Joseph sleep together... when Joseph rolls off his bed onto Isaiah's. It used to be the other way until we had them switch beds. Joseph (4) is in K-4 and has learned half of the alphabet! He enjoys discovering words that start with the letters he knows. He loves singing and knows many, many hymns and choruses. He and Suzanne make quite a duet in church! He is doing well and shows no side effects from his fall into the cistern a year and a half ago. Suzanne (2) is talking up a storm minus a few letters of the alphabet. She makes a “Y” sound for her “L's” and an “R” sound for “F's” and leaves out “S” all together. Which sounds cute though it is a challenge to decipher what she is saying sometimes! Sharlene and I keep quite busy: Sharlene in her roles as a good wife, mother, school teacher/administrator and student! Yes, she is working on a Masters in Education. Pray that she will be able to schedule in a regular time to work on those classes. She has not been able to do her girls class this year because she has been so busy with other things. And I am busy at the radio station as well as in my role as a good husband and father. I still take the children up to the rest home each Sunday morning to sing, read Scripture and pray with the folks there. It is a challenge to keep up with everything demanding my attention! Pray for wisdom for us to prioritize and good speed to accomplish what needs to be done each day. We praise the Lord for providing a bus several months ago for which we had been praying for a number of years. We thank the Lord for His many blessings as well as the difficulties that have come our way. It has been 6 years since our last furlough. The Lord has amazingly provided for tickets so we are planning a family furlough for this coming summer (2008). The Murphys have said we can use their motor home while we are in the USA. That depends upon whether they will still need it. We are praying that they will be here by the time we go up so they can help out in our absence and so the motor home will be free. Thank you for helping us by prayer. We ask you to pray with us for the Lord to provide more adequate facilities for the school. The Lord has provided funds to buy or build something but neither is possible right now. Pray also for teachers for next school year. We will be losing two or three of our teachers. Sister Ramdhanie will be returning to Trinidad. She and her husband have been gracious to give us about 7 months to help at the station and school. Alice plans to go to Bible school in St. Vincent next fall, and Jane is praying about furthering her education at BJU. That just leaves Roxanne who would also love to go to Bible school if the Lord opens the door! Pray that the Lord will put it on the heart of some to come over and help us! Continue to pray for the registration of our school. We are “close” to it once again and, Lord willing, that will be in hand before next school year begins. Thank you for praying for us! Thank you for your support! Thank you for the many expressions of your love for us that we have gratefully received. Merry Christmas and God's very best to you for 2008! Spreading
the WORD, Tuesday May15, 2007 Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ, Christian greetings to you in the Name of our loving and merciful Saviour, Jesus Christ! We are so grateful to God and thankful to you for your faithful support – by prayer and giving. On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. (Psalm 62:7-8) First an apology: I have recently realized that a number of you have not been receiving the prayer letters as you should have. Something happened when we migrated data from our old database to a new one. A number of addresses were somehow lost in the process. Please forgive us for not noticing this earlier. It has been several months since we have done a family prayer letter, but you should have been receiving the monthly letters from the Harbour Light. If you have not, please accept my apology. I've been working to get everyone put back in the database. Also, we were extra short-handed at the station this past year, and many things either did not get done or were not followed up on like they should have been - I'm Sorry!
Our school is in great need of more space and better facilities. We have grown out of the facilities we have and are praying for the Lord to give us something bigger for next school year. We will have to give up one of the buildings we have been using this year. Pray with us for a building that will give us 6 classrooms, two bathrooms, as well as room for assembly, lunch, and a library. Doors of opportunity are opening for the school to minister to children beyond the HLW staff children. Please pray with us for God's direction and timing along with the teachers and finances to proceed. We are working on a website for the school which will help you keep up with what's going on at "Harbour Light Christian Academy." The website is presently "under construction" at www.harbourlightacademy.org. We have been enjoying the mission house now for over 9 months! It is becoming more and more like “home” each day as we have time to put pictures up, get arrangements of furniture right, put up shelves, etc. “Thank you!” to every one of you who has had a part in making it possible for us to have this beautiful home to live in. Due to an unseen leak in the plumbing (which has now been fixed) we have nearly run out of water. Pray that rains will come soon - Hurricane season begins June 1! Joseph continues to be fine after his fall into the cistern last July, praise the Lord. I continue to take the smaller children to the rest home each Sunday morning to sing, play the melodica, and read the scripture to the residents there. I also serve as "Mr. Fixit" for them. Bus report: The Lord has provided above all we could ask or think in this regard. We have not been able to find a good used bus for the money we had. Instead, the Lord has added enough for us to buy a new bus! We should have it in a few weeks. Thank you for praying and giving toward this need! Thank you again for your faithful support – both by your prayers and gifts. We appreciate very much the expressions of love you have shown to us in so many ways. May God richly bless you in your work for Him!

Christian greetings to
you from our family! Thank you for being such a big part in
what the Lord is doing here in Carriacou and the Windward
Islands. Your financial support and most importantly your
prayers have been a great blessing to us. They are making a
big difference for the Kingdom of God here! It is a special
joy to hear from many, many listeners right here in
Carriacou as well as other islands about how the Lord is
using the Harbour Light in their lives. May the Lord
provide for all your needs as He has met our needs through
you!
July was a busy month for
our family. Our oldest daughter, Caroline, graduated from
the Harbour Light Christian Academy and then traveled to the
USA with Sharlene and her parents who had been down for the
graduation. Sharlene took a course at BJU toward her
masters degree and Caroline began working at Audio Services
where I worked as a student.
While they were
away Joseph fell into our cistern and I jumped in to rescue
him. Joseph is doing quite well, praise the Lord and I am
doing some walking without crutches now. My feet are still
tender and may continue to be for some time. It is easy to
overdo it. But, praise the Lord, I am able to get around
better every day.
The Harbour Light
Christian Academy started very well this year and with some
new students! Our son Isaiah began K4. Kerena's sister
Delia and Hannah Louis make up the kindergarten level
students. (Continue to pray for the Lord to provide the
rest of the finances for Kerena to go to BJU in January.)
We also added one local girl to the sixth grade. There are
14 students in our school this year and 4 teachers including
Sharlene. Roxanne is our K4 teacher and has been doing an
excellent job. She has been teaching in our school the
longest besides Sharlene. Paula is teaching grades 1 and
3. This is her second year teaching with the school. Jane
teaches grades 4 and 6. This is also her second year
teaching. All three local teachers are special, love the
Lord and bless us by their ministry with our children. Pray
that the Lord will provide some support for our teachers to
supplement what we give them.
We
just celebrated Suzanne's first birthday! She is not saying
any words yet(lots of sounds, though) but she has been
walking for a few weeks and enjoys very much being taken out
of doors. She loves our black Labrador, Mercedes, and the
little black kitty we recently got from a friend. Joseph
(2) comes up with quite the "quips." He wore his "boat
shirt" the other day because he was going to "get in a boat
and go see Caroline." Isaiah (4) is full of fun and
teasing. He is excited to be in school (K4)
and learning letters. He also likes to put on his "Pastor"
shoes to go to church. Micayla (6; first grade) is fast
losing her "daddy's baby girl" look. :) She is enjoying
school especially this year because she is learning to read
- and doing a great job! Peter (7; third grade) has his own
tool box now and a few tools. He is always begging me to
help him build something. So far we have only built a bird
house. Peter has helped me work on the truck and some other
projects around the house. We have even used some of his
tools! Angelia (9; fourth grade) is now the biggest girl in
the little girl's room. She loves to take care of Suzanne.
She even got up the other night to quiet Suzanne. Katrina
(10; sixth grade) has been moved up to the "big girls
room." She is learning to take on more responsibility
around the house. Anna-Helen (13; eighth grade) has really
begun to blossom. She is our "quiet" one and is growing in
the graces of young womanhood. She along with Mary was
baptized a few weeks ago. Mary (15, 10th grade) has really
stepped in and taken a lot of responsibility around the
house. She still reads several books each week and is a
great cook and baker! She adds a lot of spice to our family
with her passionate love for books and classical music.
Caroline (18) is a busy freshman at BJU majoring in Youth
Ministries and minoring in Counseling.
Sharlene is a busy wife,
mother and teacher. She enjoyed her class at BJ this summer
and is already putting things she learned into practice.
She will begin her girls class again next week which brings
up our desire for a bus to pick them up with instead of the
open bed of our pickup truck. A bus world also be very
handy for church pickup. We are still waiting for the Lord
to direct us to the right one. The selection/price is not
very good when it comes to good used buses. We are working
with a dealer who brings good used buses in directly from
Japan. Pray for this need to be met soon!
I have been busy at the
station trying to juggle a number of "hats" in the absence
of the McPhersons & Mama C. We moved into the mission house
in mid July and have been enjoying getting settled in.
There was still a lot of finish work to do but with the help
of Anthony Garland and Pat Murphy most of those projects
have been accomplished. I still have a number of things yet
to do like putting up shelves in the office, making curtain
rods (to replace "stretch rod") & hanging pictures. We are
really enjoying the additional space which somehow brings
with it a calmer, more relaxed atmosphere.
Pray with us for the Lord
to add to us new supporters. Our support level
has only slightly increased over the last 10 years and our
family has doubled in size. We thank the Lord for each of
you who support us and ask that you pray with us that others
will join you. Pray that the school will be registered very
soon. Pray for our teachers that the Lord will bless them
and provide for them. Pray for Sharlene's girls class that
the young ladies who come will respond to the Word of God
and give their lives to Him in everything. Pray for the
safety of our children. Pray for the bus need. Pray for
the Lord to provide for the Murphys to come which will
lighten our burden greatly. Pray that the Lord will be
glorified in us and in His work here.
Praise the Lord with us
for our new home at the mission house and for so many who
helped make it possible. Praise the Lord for the good
Christian school we have here and for the godly teachers He
has sent to us. Praise the Lord for preserving Joseph's
life. Praise the Lord for His provision through precious
people both in the USA and Caribbean. Praise the Lord for a
"quiet" hurricane season thus far. Praise the Lord for
many, many who have heard God's Word and responded to it.
Praise the Lord for the wonderful pleasure of...

December 2005 Christmas Greetings from our family to yours! Thank you for your support for our family! We thank the Lord also for you who so faithfully support our family through gifts and prayer. In the years we have been here (nearly 16!) we have seen the Lord provide for us in many wonderful ways. When we came in March of 1990, we were a family of 3 with about $900/month support. We praise the Lord for providing for us in such a way that we have not had to return to the US to raise additional support even though our family has grown in size four-fold! The Lord has been as good as His word and He has given us what He has promised to supply - "all our need." We could tell many stories about how the Lord provided clothes, toiletries, food, extra money, a laptop for school, things for the children, a special "day of rest" for Sharlene and me - the list could go on and on. These blessing have come from friends and churches in the US, friends in the UK, friends here in the islands, and friends right here in Grenada and Carriacou. We praise the Lord for His abundant goodness! (the picture was taken at the Mission house) This has been a busy year! Sharlene has had her hands full at school teaching first three then two grades, preparing two students for some CXC exams, and one for the Common Entrance exam. She is also been working on a Masters degree... while she's resting. :) I took Mary with me to Barbados and Anna with me to Trinidad for some Conferences in July. Then in September the Lord marvelously supplied two teachers for the fall term. Jane Jaffier was saved a as result of the ministry at Open Door Independent Baptist Church a number of years ago. She finished secondary school recently and has been a great blessing to us and her students. Through an amazing chain of circumstances Paula Monrose who had been teaching in Florida arrived just a couple of days before Sharlene delivered our tenth child - Suzanne Lydia Margaret - to help us with the fall term. Her sweet and willing spirit as well as her spiritual maturity were refreshing. Paula is now trying to get back to her teaching job in the USA. Pray for the Lord's will and timing in getting her green card or a visa. Miss Abby continues to need your prayers for her monthly support to increase. She was encouraged by a large gift this month which will "tie her over" for a while. We appreciate her and the sacrifice she has made to be here very much. My mom continues to do well. In addition to her full time work at the station, she teaches a ladies SS class, plays the piano at church and hosts (along with Miss Abby) a weekly Bible club. Caroline (17) is a great cook! She just took the ACT test in preparation for entering Bob Jones University next fall. She will be taking more CXC exams this spring. She would appreciate your prayers. Mary (14) continues to be our family baker. She and Caroline are really making it hard to keep the "flab" off! :) Mary still holds the family record for reading - about a book a day. Anna (12) is our baby sitter. The little ones respond to her very well. Katrina (9) is in a growth spurt. She is getting taller and is becoming a real help around the house (usually:). Angelia (8) is growing into quite a little lady. She enjoys "working" for me at the station. She and Katrina have helped with letters and cleaning. Recently we noticed that Peter (nearly 7) was having difficulty seeing to read. I took him to see the eye doctor when he came earlier this month. He determined that the lenses in his eyes were fine - that he should be able to see well. However, he cannot see well. The eye doctor suggested that something is wrong between the retina and the brain. Peter fell while playing jump-rope a couple of years ago hitting the back of his head pretty hard. That may be the cause of his vision problem but we don't know. We have been advised by the doctor here and an eye doctor in the States that Peter needs to see a retina specialist. The closest retina specialist is in the USA. So, Peter and I are planning to travel to the States sometime in January to have Peter's eyes checked. Please pray for Peter and me as we travel and for the doctors to be able to help Peter see clearly. Micayla (5) is starting to read! She's pleased with that. Isaiah (3) and Joseph (2) are two "peas in a pod" and often "partners in crime." They are both sharp as tacks and don't miss much. Joseph is surprising us with his wit and quickness in picking things up - like music. Suzanne (3mo) is starting to become aware of her surroundings. She loves her special dog-leash-doorway swing and her multitude of siblings. Vehicle update: When we came to Carriacou, we brought with us an old mail jeep - retired from the US mail service. It worked hard. We used it for towing the trailer - hauling materials for building construction. We also used it for a "church bus" taking our small family and several others to church with us. It soon got too small for our needs, and the Lord provided a 4x4 Nissan pickup which was used for towing the Harbour Light's 6000 lb. fuel trailer, for church pick-up, and for many other things. For the last several years it has been a two-family vehicle. We have shared it with our next door neighbours and fellow staff family - Linus and Jennifer Louis - which has been a blessing to them. Linus has been a great help sharing driving needs for staff pickup/take-home and various church, school, Harbour Light functions, etc. As you know, we have been praying for a bus to replace our truck. It will enable us to carry our family, church folks and the girls' class inside instead of so many having to ride in the bed of the truck (which we understand will soon be illegal). We have been talking with a car dealer in Grenada who imports good used vehicles directly from Japan. They called yesterday to say that they have a bus ready for us to come look at. I plan to go over to Grenada next week to see it. What we have "in hand" (50% duty concession from the Government at a time when concessions for vehicles are rare, the old truck which we can sell, and a small amount saved/donated for the purpose) is about half of what the asking price is. We cannot support a loan. We are not asking you to give anything, but we are asking you to pray that if it is the Lord's will that we have this bus that He would supply - in whatever way and time pleases Him - all the money needed. We are asking the Lord - if it is His will - to supply in such abundance that we won't have to sell the truck so the Louis can have it. We believe this is a need, but we want God's perfect will in this. Thank you for praying with us. The Internet streaming is going pretty well. There are still a few "hiccups" to work out. Please give us feedback on your listening experience - especially what problems you experience. We would love to hear about the blessings also! Many people have tuned in to listen already. I'll be sharing some of the comments we have received in the next "LIGHT!" The concurrent load on the servers is still fairly light so feel free to listen any time. We appreciate your support - both prayer and financial. May the Lord meet your needs as He has been so gracious to use you to meet ours, so we can continue... Christian Greetings from
Carriacou!
We are called to bond-service for
our Lord in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie,
promised long ages ago, but at the proper time manifested,
even His word, in the proclamation with
which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our
Savior. Titus 1:3-4
We continue to count it a pleasure
as well as a duty to our Lord to be here proclaiming the Word of God
to the Windward Islands and beyond. Thank you so much for being a
part of the work the Lord has entrusted to us! Thank you for your
prayers. Thank you for your faithful support. We thank the Lord
for His faithfulness to us through you!
There are so many things going on
right now that I hardly know where to begin! So let me start by
giving you an update on the family. Our "big news" is that Sharlene
is expecting our tenth child and is due in October. So far she is
doing well, praise the Lord. Please pray for her to continue to
have a good pregnancy and a
safe delivery in October and that the baby will be healthy. We are
praying about having this one in a private hospital in Grenada
instead of here in Carriacou. Logistics are a problem but we know
God can work it out if it is His will.
All of the children from Micayla
upward have professed faith in the Lord Jesus for salvation. Praise
the Lord! Pray for them to grow in the Lord and give
themselves to His plan for their life.
What a wonderful opportunity for so many children to grow up in a
godly Christian home where they will be trained to love and serve
the Lord!
Our
School's closing program will be this Thursday evening and in
addition to family, a number
of unsaved friends have been invited. Pray that the young folks
will do well and that the gospel message throughout the program will
be received. The Lord has blessed us with another teacher for the
coming school year. Jane Jeffier is a member of Open Door
Independent Baptist Church
where we are now attending. Pray for her as she prepares to begin
teaching and for the Lord to provide for her ($250us/month) salary.
She is all the more needed since Sharlene will not be able to teach
for several weeks in the fall. Pray that the Lord will supply funds
and materials to do some renovation on the school this summer.
The roof is leaking in a number of places,
and the windows are in very bad shape and will fall out if we don't
do something. We have needed to do these repairs ever since taking
over the building several years ago but just have not had the
financial wherewithal to do it. A Christian builder in Grenada has
promised to give us several sheets of good used galvanize so that is
a start! (The total needed is $7,000us.) Abby
Randolph who teaches our lower elementary students will be traveling
back to the US next week for a short furlough to raise an additional
$250/month and to visit her family. Pray for her to get the needed
support and for her parents to be saved.
Speaking of the truck, a
16-year-old bicyclist cut a blind corner and hit us the other day.
He broke his arm and damaged the fender of the truck. He could have
been hurt much more than he was because he was riding very fast
downhill. I took the opportunity
to speak to him about
his soul after he got patched
up in Grenada, and he said
he wanted to be saved. I was not sure if he was just saying that to
please me so I invited him to church and asked him
if he wanted to do the Bible lessons. The first lesson has a
clear presentation of the truths of the Gospel. When he completed
the first lesson, I talked
to him about what he learned. When I asked him if he had ever done
what the lesson taught concerning salvation, he said yes! I asked
him "When?" He replied,
"when I was doing this lesson." He has been to nearly every service
since. Pray for Michael that he will be sure of his Salvation and
follow the Lord. He will have to say "no" to a great many ungodly
friends in order to live for the Lord. Pray also for his mother who
also needs to be saved. She works at the rest home where we still
go weekly. We share the Gospel each week, sing hymns and choruses,
and read the Bible to the residents and staff. Pray for eternal
fruit.
Recently the Lord placed a very
delicate situation in our laps. As a result we have a Christian
teen girl living with us for a few weeks. She has been responding
well to Sharlene's counsel and has opened up to her and shared her
heart. She has said she does not want to continue in sin and wants
to do God's will for her life. Pray also that she will continue to
follow the Lord's leading in her life and that the Lord will help
her to "go and sin no more." Other
situations that the Lord has given me to work with include two men
who are going through major marriage difficulties. Pray that the
Lord will give both Sharlene and me wisdom from God to deal with
these challenging situations.
Caroline
has been invited to travel with my mother on her "holiday" to
Dominica and Antigua next month. Pray for their safety and for them
to have a wonderful time visiting family and friends. Pray for my
mother to have good health during the trip. I have been invited to
attend and preach at two conferences this summer. One in Barbados
in July and one in Trinidad in August, Lord willing. I will be
taking Mary with me to Barbados and Anna-Helen to Trinidad since
Sharlene will not be able to travel. This will be a treat for both
Mary and Anna-Helen. Pray that the Lord will provide the finances
and use these opportunities to make us a blessing. Pray also that it
will be a good experience for the girls.
Continue to pray for both Sharlene and me as we continue with our
regular responsibilities - Sharlene at school and me at the radio
station.
Here is a picture of us taken this past Sunday afternoon. Please
pray earnestly for us and the requests mentioned. The needs are
great! Thank you for your help!
...you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that
thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor
bestowed on us through the prayers
of many.

Children
Phil. 1:9-11
Monday, January 03, 2005 Dear Family & Friends, Grace to you and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” (2Co 9:8) Thank you, for your prayers and support this past year! We have had the Joy of having Sharlene’s Mom & Dad with us this Christmas. They are our “right hands” in the USA by facilitating the acquisition and shipping of many items both for the Harbour Light and us ever since we arrived here in March of 1990. It is hard to believe that we have been here for nearly 15 years, that Sharlene & I will be celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary and that we have 9 children! The Lord truly has blessed us greatly – not because we are so “spiritual,” but because He loves us. We love Him because He first loved us. We love serving Him here in our appointed place. We desire to grow in our knowledge of Him, increase our service for Him, become more like Him, and look eagerly for Him. We have had a great answer to prayer! Today, on the first day of the new school term, the Education officer for Carriacou came to inspect our school. She arrived just when Chapel was beginning and chose to sit and listen. Sharlene’s Dad was the speaker and gave a good challenge on Creation and the Gospel. He “just happened” to have a number of the students read passages of Scripture which gave the officer a chance to hear them read. Afterwards Sharlene and the officer had a good conversation about the curriculum and other features of our school. From what Sharlene says, it sounds like the registration of Harbour Light Christian Academy will shortly to take place. We started working on getting registered 5 years ago. Pray that nothing will hinder the Ministry of Education from issuing the letter of registration soon. Our children have grown (as you can see!) and we are delighted with each one of them. Caroline (16) is in 11th grade and is our “practical” one (she made her blouse). She has a small ministry to other girls her age by providing Bible reading and study material for them on a weekly basis. Mary (almost 14) is in 8th grade and still disappears into “bookland.” She has read most of the books in our 2000+ book library. She is currently (today) reading A Chance to Die. Anna-Helen (11) is in 6th grade and is at that awkward age of trying to grow up but not knowing if she really wants to. She is trying her hand at the laundry job and finding out it is a lot more work than it looked like - washing for a family of 11. He has graduated from the 16” bike, conquered the 20” bike and has his eye on the 26” bike.
