Dear Citizen of Heaven,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and our soon-coming Saviour, Jesus Christ!  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.  Do all things without murmurings and disputings: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; holding forth the Word of Life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither labored in vain! Phil. 2:13-16

Praise the Lord!  The new generator has arrived!  Thank you for your prayers and gifts that God used to make this a reality.  It is now sitting in the generator building waiting to be hooked up.  There is a bit of work to do on the shroud that directs the hot air from the engine outside before we can put it into its permanent position.  That is being done as I write so, Lord willing, the new generator will begin its work providing our electricity in a few days!  Please pray that it will run well and give us many years of good service.  Pray also for God's provision for the fuel that it will need.  Fuel prices remain high here in Carriacou – about $6US/imperial gallon.

Praise the Lord for the team that was here and for all the work that was accomplished with their help!  To Ray & Barbara McDowell, Wayne & Jane Camfield, Chester Carrie (not pictured), Ken Grim, Ron Graham, & Gary Kuster - THANK YOU for coming!  A father/son team is here continuing the work of the team that just left.  John and Jonathan Vadala planned to come with the group but it worked out better for them to come later.  They arrived late last week but have already been a great help!  We appreciate the attitude of teams who have come with a willingness to do whatever needs to be done.

It's hard to believe that Sharlene & I have been in Carriacou for 22 years.  We have been blessed to be here - right in the center of God's will.  The Lord has been very gracious to us and has taught (and continues to teach) us many things.  We are learning to loosely hold all our possessions, to be flexible, to live & eat much like “Kayaks” do, to become “all things to all people” for Christ's sake, to open our home to people, to give whatever we have (many have given to us!), to live among people – not aloof from them, and to genuinely love them.

We've learned that to serve God, you've got to give up your right to yourself in every way – you are not your own!  You've got to know you are where God wants you to be and daily doing what He wants you to do.  You've got to be committed to Him and not to anything or anyone else.  You've got to be willing to do anything that needs to be done – no matter how mundane or unpleasant.  You've got to be willing to share what you have – to give it all away!  (Think of the widow of Zarephath and the widow Jesus commended at the Temple.) You've got to be unashamed of Christ and the Gospel as well as un-intimidated by the ungodliness around you – God can save anyone He chooses!  You've got to learn to take one day at a time.  You've got to learn to hear God's voice by spending a lot of time with Him, His word and in prayer, to learn to follow Him even when it does not make sense or you don't understand (the test of true submission is obedience even when you don't agree or understand), to wait for God's definite leading.  God gives a knowledge of what He wants you to do (not necessarily understanding) and He waits for you to move on that.  Then He sends the confirmation.  Understanding often comes much later.  The “fleece” is the exception, not the rule as one matures in Christ.  What is your goal for your life this year?  May it be to please God, glorify and be accepted of Him. Maranatha!

Staff News:

Sharlene's mother, JoAnn Isaak, has been diagnosed with cancer, and Sharlene has gone up to be with her following surgery.  Please pray for God to be glorified through this trial of faith.  Mom & Dad Isaak have been a wonderful blessing to our family and to many others.  Mrs. Isaak is a modern day Dorcas.

Linus & Jennifer send their greetings to you as well as their appreciation for your prayers.  Their bus has broken down and will need parts to repair it.  Pray that Linus will be able to obtain the parts quickly.  They continue to pray for a house of their own.

The Little's also greet you and thank you for your prayers for them.  They continue to work hard and save to put the roof on their house.  Pray that God will continue to provide for this need.  Richard was a tremendous help with laying the new carpet.

“Mama C” is doing well.  She will celebrate her 77th birthday this month!  She thanks you for your prayers for her.  She continues to work at the Harbour Light 2 or 3 days each week.  At home, she is working on writing a book which traces the Lord's hand on the Cornelius family as they have served God at 3 Christian missionary radio stations for the past 56 years!

Murphys are grateful for your prayerful concern for them and they send their love.  Pat has been doing very well after the surgery to remove his gall bladder last year but he's been working his knees too hard.  He just about wore himself completely out while the team was here.  Pat & Janice did the lion's share of coordinating and facilitating the team while they were here.  They are presently hosting a father/son team – John & Jonathan Vadala – who are here for two weeks helping Pat on projects.

Our listeners write...

...from St. Vincent  I praise God continually for the Harbour Light.  I study the Word of God through various programs and enjoy the healthy songs and preaching.  Congratulations on the 20th anniversary!  I am always praying for you and your staff.  May God continue to let your light beam throughout the Caribbean and the rest of the world.

...from Barbados Greetings and congratulations as you celebrate twenty years of broadcasting – what a mighty God we serve!  Thanks for helping me in my Spiritual walk with the Lord – and I'm sure I'm speaking for many, many listeners, too.  May the Lord keep you faithful and bless you abundantly.

...from Guyana It is a wonderful blessing to hear the words of the Lord through your radio broadcast.  I truly enjoy listening to these programmes and to let you know how well the presenters are doing in teaching the unadulterated Word of God. I have been blessed and continue to receive knowledge and inspiration through these anointed men and women of God who have committed themselves to the work for which they have been called.  May God keep the entire broadcast team together as they touch hearts and lives.

...from Trinidad ...just two lines to encourage you all that the high standards remain at the Harbour Light – keep it up!  Yours is the best so far in the Caribbean.  I encourage others to tune to this station.

...from Trinidad I am thankful to God for you all and your station.  I went at a friend's home to repair some of his lighting fixtures and heard the wonderful gospel songs & hymns and asked about it, so he showed me how to find your station.  It's about one year now that I'm giving God thanks for you all!

...from St. Vincent I am an ardent listener to radio Harbour Light of the Windwards.  I listen every day – Monday through Sunday and I must say how enlightening to hear the Word of God – so refreshing, clean and everything – no rock music to invite the world in, just good God-honouring music.  Thank you!  Please enroll me in your Bible correspondence course.

...from Trinidad For the past 15 years I've been struggling with contemporary music.  The booklet you sent has really been an eye opener – very enlightening & informative.

...from Barbados  Thank you for another year of broadcasting.  The blessings I have received cannot be reckoned in dollars and cents – they are priceless!  May the Lord give you help & strength as you continue to serve Him in the coming year.

...from Barbados Harbour Light offers us an oasis in the desert, yet many persons would say that this station isn't for them. Thank God, a number of my friends have held it in high regard and listen to nothing else. We are indeed in the times when persons will not endure sound doctrine. On the other hand, there are those who are willing but they are but babes, and we must pray for their growth and development in the word, but they are not seeing the best of examples. We know, however that the Holy Spirit is faithful, and Christ will reward those who diligently seek Him. I first stumbled upon the Harbour light in Dec 1991, and have been blessed ever since then. You are doing a good work, you cannot afford to come down now. We serve a wonderful God.
